Biomass Fuel is natural organic matter used as a fuel, especially in a power station with a boiler for the generation of energy, electricity, and heat.

- Sustainable, Abundant, Renewable: One of the biggest advantages to using biomass is that it is a renewable energy source. As we use the energy we can reproduce it by cultivating specially designed crops or planting trees to product more biomass energy in a short period of time.
- No Harmful Emissions: Unlike other energy sources biomass energy, for the most part, creates no harmful carbon dioxide emissions. Using biomass as a fuel means that carbon dioxide (CO2) which was absorbed from the air while the plant was growing, is released back into the air when the fuel is burned. The system is said to be carbon neutral.
- Reduced Dependency on Fossil Fuels: Biomass is an alternate source of fuel for many homeowners and energy boiler plants. It has helped us to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels.

Solid biomass fuels are burned in a boiler. The heat produced turns water to steam which is then used to turn a turbine generator to produce electricity.
